Equipped with a front camera washer, the GMC Sierra 1500’s optional HD Surround Vision delivers all-weather visibility, while the Ram 1500 RHO lacks a camera washer, requiring manual cleaning.

Both the Sierra 1500 and 1500 RHO offer rear cross-traffic warning, but the Sierra 1500 with Rear Cross Traffic Alert also has Rear Cross Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The 1500 RHO’s Rear Cross Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Sierra 1500 and the 1500 RHO have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available four-wheel drive, blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Sierra 1500 Gas’ fuel efficiency. The 1500 RHO doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the GMC Sierra 1500 uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended with the 6.2 V8 engine for maximum performance). The 1500 RHO requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Sierra 1500 SLT/Denali’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 1500 RHO’s 65 series tires.

For better load carrying, ride, handling and brake cooling the Sierra 1500 SLT/Denali offers optional 22-inch wheels. The 1500 RHO’s largest wheels are only 18-inches.

The Sierra 1500’s standard front and rear power windows all lower with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The 1500 RHO’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open them fully.

When the Sierra 1500 SLT/AT4/Denali is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The 1500 RHO’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.
