Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Hummer EV SUV has standard Reverse Automatic Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Q6 e-tron doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Hummer EV SUV. But it costs extra on the Q6 e-tron.

The GMC Hummer EV SUV’s Surround Vision is equipped with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Audi Q6 e-tron only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.

Both the Hummer EV SUV and the Q6 e-tron have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The GMC Hummer EV SUV weighs 3349 to 3918 pounds more than the Audi Q6 e-tron. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

GMC’s powertrain warranty covers the Hummer EV SUV 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Audi covers the Q6 e-tron. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Q6 e-tron ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 5 times as many GMC dealers as there are Audi dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Hummer EV SUV’s warranty.

For better traction, the Hummer EV SUV has larger tires than the Q6 e-tron (305/55R22 vs. 235/60R19). The Hummer EV SUV’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Q6 e-tron (305/55R22 vs. 255/50R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Hummer EV SUV has standard 22-inch wheels. The Q6 e-tron’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The GMC Hummer EV SUV’s wheels have 8 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Audi Q6 e-tron only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Hummer EV SUV has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Q6 e-tron; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed. Some tire options on the Q6 e-tron don’t have a run-flat feature, either.

The front and rear suspension of the Hummer EV SUV uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Q6 e-tron, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Hummer EV SUV’s wheelbase is 13 inches longer than on the Q6 e-tron (126.7 inches vs. 113.7 inches).

For better maneuverability, the Hummer EV SUV’s turning circle is 4.3 feet tighter than the Q6 e-tron’s (35.4 feet vs. 39.7 feet).
